Canadian Sport Fishing Species
Canadian Sport fishing has a few different species that are popular fish to catch in Ontario, Canada. The Kawartha Lakes, the Great Lakes are great resources to catch a fish. Trout
The Trout family is a diverse cold water species of salmonids. The trout species is the freshwater fish of the salmonid family, which also include salmon and char.

Bass
Bass are a species of freshwater lakes and rivers that Candian Sport Fishing favorites.
The two prominent bass species are the largemouth bass and the small mouth. Bass are a warm water species of fish, so fishing techniques are focused on the shore line and obstructions such as docks, providing shelter from predators. The shallow water provides cover such as weed beds and docks to bass. To cast out your bait over, under and in obstructions to catch a bass is quite diverse and similar in different peoples methods of catching bass. Fishing in the shallows with avoid the obstacles to catch large bass is great for Candian Sport Fishing.

Pike and Muskellunge
Pike are a cool water species which can be found southern Ontario to Northern Ontario and other parts of Canada. There are long slender green fish that is a predator and has a mouthful of sharp teeth. The Northern Pike has a cousin called the muskie or muskellunge, which is found primarily in shallow lakes or rivers, such as the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario. This group of fish grow to be very big fish, so fishing and catching a trophy is quite popular, with Canadian Sport Fishing
Walleye
The Walleye (Sander vitreus vitreus) is a freshwater fish native to most of Canada and to the northern United States. The close relative to walleye is the e European pikeperch The walleye is also know as the yellow walleye, pickerel, yellow pike or the walleyed pike even though the walleye is not related to the pike or pickeral families of Esocidae.
Walleyes average growth is 30in in length and can weigh to about an average size of 15 lbs. The growth rate of walleye is faster and longer in the southern parts of their range. Walleye are olive green and gold in appearance, the common French name is doré – golden. The olive green is more of the dorsal side of the fish blending to a golden hue on its flanks. The olive gold blend is broken up by five darker bands extending to the top side of the body. The color shades to white on its belly. A white tip on its first dorsal fin and anal fins makes it distinctive to its cousin the sauger. The walleye mouth is large that has sharp teeth.
The walleye will be attracted to leaches, minnows, earthworms and crayfish as live bait, or minnow imitating plugs and spinners are good artificial baits. The walleye is fished primarily for its flesh, in Canadian Sport Fishing the walleye is the best tasting fresh water fish.
